He was the widower of Martha (Bache) Adams, who passed away in 1979.
Born in Manchester, Conn., he was a son of the late Jacob and Anna (Horwath) Adams.
He was a machinist mechanic, last working for many years at Barbetts in Reading until his retirement. He also worked in the same position for the Wedgewood and Berkshire Knitting Mills for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a PFC.
William was an avid record collector and loved working with and building audio electronics.
Surviving are a son, Daniel A. Adams, Reading; stepdaughter, Wanda, wife of David Oudinot, Fleetwood; grandchildren: Janelle, wife of Scott Yeager; Cheyenne M. Adams; and Andrew R. Adams; great-granddaughters, Ashley and Lexis Yeager; and a sister, Ruth A., wife of Amos H. Rissler, Richland.
He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and their families.
Services will be held at the Auman Funeral Homes, Reiffton, Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. www.aumansinc.com
