William "Bill" T. Gordon, age 83, of Leesport, PA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Reading Hospital-Tower Health, after a brief battle with Cancer. Born August 9, 1937 in West Reading, PA he was the cherished son to the late William James and Helen Ann (Gustitus) Gordon.
William was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1955. He also attended DeVry Institute and Penn State University. William was a master electrician by trade and was employed by Carpenter Technology Corp for 30 years, retiring in 1996.
William was a fun-loving soul who cared deeply for his family. He adored his wife Nancy and especially loved dancing with her, they were known to clear a dance floor or two back in the day. They also shared many memories and adventures from the thousands of miles they traveled across the United States in their R.V., which included multiple visits to Virginia Beach. William was a jokester and was a steady source of quips, puns and a legacy of dad jokes. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, running, weightlifting, listening to music and watching Fox News. He was also an avid fan of both the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies.
William’s spirit will be carried on by his darling wife of 33 years, Nancy Ann (Schweitzer) Gordon; 3 daughters Amber Gordon, of Los Angeles, CA; Stacy Moyer and her husband Robert J. Moyer II, of Hamburg, PA; Michelle Kochel, of Ephrata, PA; stepson Robert Aldinger, of Kentucky and his beloved dog Benji. William also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Robert, Roby, Adam, Chrissy, Jessie; and 7 great grandchildren Matthew, Alex, Zemira, Leighton, Arabella, Eden, Chloe to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, daughter Linda J. Gordon; son William T. Gordon Jr., son Alexander M. Gordon and grandson Nicholas C. Eliopulos greeted him in heaven.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the staff of Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. A memorial service to celebrate William’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 12:30 PM in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Robert Aregood officiating. Family and friends will gather before the service on Tuesday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Following the memorial service a graveside committal will be held at at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink rd., Reiffton.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing and face masks are required in the funeral home.To honor Williams's memory, his family requests that friends and family attending the service dress casual and wear Eagles gear.
