Carol L. Taylor, 91, passed away at Oak River Rehab in Anderson, California on February 17, 2011. She was born to Walter and Lillian Mahan in Thayer, Missouri on December 21, 1919. Carol's mother passed away when Carol was in the 8th grade. At age 13, She had to leave school to help her father with the family dry cleaning business and take care of her younger brothers and sisters. At 16 years old, Carol married the love of her life, LeeRoy Taylor. It wasn't until after the wedding ceremony that she revealed to him how young she really was. The two of them spent 51 happy years together fishing, camping and even night hunting, before he passed away in 1987.
Carol enjoyed being social. When she moved in to Oak River Rehab 10 years ago, she enjoyed visiting the patients who had trouble getting around. She loved getting involved in the activities and music, often bringing a radio with her to meal time. She had the opportunity to touch many lives and will be greatly missed.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband LeeRoy Taylor; son Earl Taylor; sister Kathleen Baston; brothers Walter Mahan, Norman Mahan and one younger brother who passed away as a small child.
She is survived by her son John Taylor; daughters Patricia Swim and her husband Clyde, Janice Walker; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
