Diane Elaine Saffen

Our loving mom, Diane Elaine Saffen, 81, of Redding, California, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, following a lengthy illness. Born November 26, 1944 to Charles and Lorice Miklich, she grew up alongside her three siblings: Charlotte, James, and Peggy. She graduated from Shasta High School Class of 1962 and went on to have a fulfilling career as a secretary in the Ag and Natural Resources Division at Shasta College before retiring after 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles (1993); her mother, Lorice (2007); and her younger sister, Peggy (2023).

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children: son Roger Hansen and daughter Terri (Rick) Wilcox. She cherished her role as a grandma to Jessica, Ricki Lynn (Jesse), and Samantha. She recently became a great-grandma to Jethro. She is survived by her brother James Miklich and sister Charlotte Hillis, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will also truly miss her.

A private graveside service will be held at the family's request.

Diane was a dedicated mother and grandmother, consistently present for her family. Her kind and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on many lives. With her distinctive sense of humor, she filled the lives of those around her with joy and laughter, creating countless treasured memories that will forever be held in our hearts. We love you mom.
