

On August 23, 2010, Don passed away at Mercy Medical Center
with family and friends at his side.
Don was born on the farm in Leonard, North Dakota, and never lost his love for the land, being an advid gardener all his life.
During his youth, he was a member of the Civil Conservation Corp. in Utah. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII, in North Africa, and Burma Theaters. After returning from WWII, to Fargo, North Dakota in 1948 he moved his family to Redding, CA where his daughter was born. In the early 50's Don was an independant jobber for the Union Ice Company delivering ice for home use, and commercial business, also for Lassen National Park, and heating oil for homes in the Redding area. After retirement from McColl's Dairy, Don and his wife Lorraine enjoyed camping at the coast, fishing and traveling, especially to Canada and Alaska, and visiting relatives in Washington and the midwest.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lorraine; son, Larry Kensinger and his wife, Barbara, of Cottonwood, his daughter, Claudia Robinson, and her husband, Richard, and one granddaughter, Amber Robinson, of Redding; his sister, Ruth Riebe, of Spokane, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States.
Viewing will be at Lawncrest Chapel, Friday, September 3, 2010 from 9 am until 11 am.
Following at 1 pm will be the funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hilltop Dr.
In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made in Don's name to the
new Igo-Ono VA Cemetery Chapel Fund, care of California Vet Assistance Group
