

Dorothy Larsen was born on February 7th, 1923 and passed away June 19th, 2011 at the age of 88 years. She died at home as the result of a stroke. She was born in Pueblo, Colorado, February 7th, 1923. Dorothy was the first of three children, Dorothy, Margaret and Duane, to be born to Jesse and Dora Bigelow.
Dorothy attended a two-room elementary school for first through eighth grade, and then commuted ten miles to Centennial High School in Pueblo for grades nine through twelve.
She began her career in secretarial work with a job at Blue Cross for over a year, after which served office manager in office of the commander of a large Ordinance Depot located near the Pueblo Army Air Corps Training Field. She remained in that position until1960.
During that time, she was married to Alvin Larsen, "Al". They were married in 1962, and lived in the Denver area, until they retired in 1984, and went on a round the world trip. They traveled through Hong Kong, Beijing, Thailand, India, Egypt, & Europe.
Upon their return, they lived in the San Diego, California area, before permanently settling in Las Vegas, Nevada. The last 3 years of her life were lived in Redding, CA. She was a member of Cross Point Community Church.
She is survived by her sister and brother in law Margaret and Jack Humphrey, Step-son Jim Larsen, Step-grandson Nick Larsen, and Step-son Rusty Larsen.
