Edward Earl Knecht, 57, of Shingletown CA, passed away on August 30th, 2022 after an amazingly strong 2 ½ year battle with Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cancer. We were all very grateful and blessed to have family home with him when he silently passed.
Edward was born in Walnut Creek, CA the son of Elzie Earl Knecht and Sandra Ann Knecht.
He is survived by his wife of 25 memorable years, Leslie Ruth Knecht, and their 3 children: (sons) Jonathan Patrick, Dylan Thomas, and (daughter) Megan Eve, all of Shingletown CA. Also his much loved fur-babies Charlie and Rebel.
His father Elzie Earl Knecht, of Hewitt, TX. His sisters Jacqueline Knecht, of Cathedral City, CA and Michelle Knecht of Hewitt, TX.
His lifelong friends and confidants Howard Revel, Don Campell & Richard Botelho.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Sandra Ann Knecht, and best friend Steve Brown.
Edward had always enjoyed nature, whether it be from the back of his Harley, or through his love of fishing and hunting ... but in the last 2 years of his life, just sitting quietly in the yard while deer causally passed him by seemed to bring him more relaxation, peace and contentment. He also enjoyed his time as Scoutmaster of Cub Scout Pack 40 for many years.
Friends will always remember him as a kind, caring and considerate personality, as his family will remember him as strong, dedicated and devoted … a very much missed part of our family.
Edwards’s Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11-2PM on September 24th at Columbia Elementary school, with a reception potluck to follow. All are welcome to come and celebrate his life.
The family would like to extend thanks to Mercy Hospice of Redding. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to “Cribs for Canines LLC”.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.lawncrestchapel.com for the Knecht family.
