Elizabeth Louise Hosley, 90, died June 7, 2026. Born July 20, 1935, Elizabeth was the daughter of Clyde Otis and Gertrude Wilhelmina Otis, and grew up in Ferndale, California. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1953. In those early years, she found simple joy in skating, and throughout her life she enjoyed gardening and sewing—steady, patient pursuits that reflected the quiet care she brought to the people around her. Elizabeth was a resident of Redding, California.
On April 3, 1953, Elizabeth married Elwin LeRoy Hosley. Together they built a home centered on devotion and constancy, and they welcomed four children. Elizabeth dedicated herself as a homemaker, offering a love that was generous, unconditional, and open-hearted, and meeting others with a spirit that was giving and nonjudgmental. Her legacy lives in the family she nurtured and the everyday kindness she extended without hesitation.
Elizabeth is survived by her children Ronald Hosley, Richard Hosley, and Robyn Hosley. She was preceded in death by husband Elwin LeRoy Hosley, her son Roy Hosley and her great-grandson Gabriel Gene Hosley. She is also survived by her grandchildren LeRoy Gene Hosley, Tasha Raybisch, Richard Hosley, Angela Hosley, Riely Hosley, Savannah Hosley, Hannah Hosley, and Cody Hosley; and by her great-grandchildren Amaya and Sebastian Sluys.
A Committal Service will be held at Lawncrest Chapel & Memorial Park, 1522 E Cypress Ave, Redding, CA 96002, on June 23, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Elizabeth’s final resting place will be Lawncrest Memorial Park, 1522 E Cypress Ave, Redding.
Pallbearers will be Ron Hosley - Son, LeRoy Hosley - Grandson, Patrick Sluys - Grandson-In-Law, Sebastian Sluys - Great Grandson, Travis Beaty - Family Friend, and Riely Hosley - Great Grandson. Honorary bearers will be Tim Sanders - Family Friend, Chris Elvers - Family Friend, and Steve Beckwith - Family Friend.
