Evelyn Marie Winegarden

Evelyn Marie Winegarden 88, was born on January 3, 1936, in McCloud CA to Donald and Ella Hays. She grew up in Big Bend, CA with her brother, Raymond and sister, Vivian. Evelyn loved to share stories from her childhood.

Evelyn married the late Ernie Winegarden on October 28, 1955, and they raised four children. Evelyn is survived by her children, Doug Winegarden (late Anita), Marcus Winegarden (Darla), Grant Winegarden (Kim) & Carol Winegarden. She has 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

She was a bookkeeper, but her favorite job was with Meals on Wheels delivering meals to seniors. Evelyn loved to work in her garden, go for drives in the woods, her dogs/cats,

the SF Giants and spending time with her family.

Evelyn passed away on February 19, 2024, in Burney, CA. The family would like to thank Mayers Memorial Hospital Burney Annex’s staff for taking care of our mother.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on March 25, 2024, at Lawncrest Chapel, Redding CA. Private reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Haven Humane Society, Turtle Bay or Meals on Wheels.
