Faye Ellen Bohren got her wings on Monday, January 31, 2011, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 9 days. She came into this world on February 22, 1922, born to Herb and Thelma Allen in Condon, Oregon. She spent her life helping others. Her free time was spent writing poems and painting. She held many jobs, Fosters Frosty Freeze, Dr. Vooheries, PG&E, Anderson Elementary School and Anderson Union High School. She was room mother for many, many years along with being a Little League Coach. She was very active in PTA until her children were out of school.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Donald Bohren, their infant son, Gerald Allen Bohren, both her parents, her favorite cousin, Delta Rae O'Dell, and many loved ones.
She is survived by her son Garry Bohren, her daughter and son-in-law, Ken and Carol Taylor, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Margaret Allen, her sister Dolores Gallagher, her cousin Earl O'Dell, several other cousins as well as 8 nieces, 4 nephews and her very best friend, Aliene Hein. She will be missed for her quick wit, great sense of humor and her big heart.
She requested graveside services and that last wish will be honored on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding, California. She also requested that anyone attending wear bright colors, no black. She said there should be no sadness, because she finally got her wish.
We are all thankful to her early caregivers from Home Helpers, especially Jacquie Hosford. She spent the last months at A Brand New Day and loved all her caregivers and staff. They took such great care of her and she called them all her boys and girls.
She was under the care of a wonderful team from Interim Hospice. We are all so thankful to them, they made everything easier for her and all the rest of us.
