

Fayre “Kay” Meyer Benneche went to the Lord on March 29, 2026 with her wonderful family by her side. She was preceded in death by her son, Chris Benneche, her parents Budd and Mary Meyer, and brothers Rodney and Buddy Meyer. She is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Ron Benneche and her daughter Jo Ann (Tony) Bertucci, her brother Junior Meyer, 5 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Kay was born on June 25, 1940 in Sisters, Oregon. The family moved to Redding in 1948 where she graduated from Shasta High School in 1958. She loved sports. Kay played fast pitch for the Pepsi-Cola team in 1952. Her husbands job was transferred to Elk Grove, CA where she played slow pitch for the Rebels. They were the first team from California to go to the National Championships in Chattanooga, TN. Kay took up golf when she was 38 and was a member of the Dry Creek Ladies Club. They moved back to Redding in 1977 and she became a member of Gold Hills Ladies Club for ten years. She was also a member of River Bend Ladies Club, Tucker Oaks Ladies Club and Lake Redding Ladies Club.
She often said how blessed she was to have such a wonderful family and all of the friends she made through the years. She loved them all.
