Herbert Damron, 88, of Cottonwood, went to be with our lord on December 16, 2015. He was born February 5, 1927 in Douglas Kentucky. He served in the US Army from 1948-1952. He retired from a major candy corporation in Salinas in 1983. He had a love of sports and enjoyed playing golf. He enjoyed coaching a city league softball team in Salinas for several years.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia of 65 years, his sons Michael(Colleen) Damron of Cottonwood and Robert Damron of Riverbank, Daughters: Linda Russell of Anderson, Maxine Baughn of Salinas and Susan(Rick) Lucero of Salinas. He is preceded in death by daughter Lorie Faltesek of Salinas. He is also survived by 3 brothers: Scott of Kentucky, Bobby of Ohio and Billy of Louisiana. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He is a lifelong member of Am-Vets and belonged to the American Legion.
He will be missed by all who loved him and he will be remembered for his love of family.
Services will be held at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery at 11800 Gas point Road, Igo, Ca. on January 4, 2016 at 12:30pm
