James Farwell Cowee Jr.

James Farwell Cowee, Jr was born August 27, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA and went to be with his Lord June 1, 2026 in Redding, CA. His Dad was a Baptist Minister. He had four sisters, one surviving, Pat Trefry in Wenatchee, WA.

Jim graduated from Pennsylvania Military Prep School in Chester, PA. A school that in its early days was a Quaker School started by his great grandfather. His Dad, Uncle and Grandmother all graduated from the college associated with the prep school, Pennsylvania Military College - now Widener College. Jim graduated from the University of California at Long Beach in 1962 and had a 36 year career in banking ending as President of North Valley Bank.

He took a break from banking for five years and managed Chico Aviation as flying was always a love of his. Eldest son, Jim III, just retired as a Captain for American Airlines.

Jim also loved fishing and had been boating since he was about 10 years old when his parents set him up with a small boat and a tiny motor where he would go out in the river near their vacation home and read comic books...

For 18 years after his retirement in 1998, he and his wife, Carol, clocked over 275,000 miles in their RV seeing all 49 states including Alaska.

Jim and Carol were married 70 years and Jim was just 3 months shy of his 90th birthday. A wonderful, blessed life.

Three sons were born in the 1960's, James Farwell Cowee III, Stephen and Chris. 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

He lived a blessed life and loved the Lord.
