Johnny Leon Coats

Johnny Leon Coats 67, wonderful husband, father, son and brother, left this world on May 10, 2012. Born January 6, 1945 to John S. and Christine Ann Marie Coats, in Andersen, Missouri.

John put up a good fight with Multiple - Myeloma. He died peacefully with his wife Marlene and family by his side.

He worked in local lumber mills as a chain puller and crane operator for 22 years. John then went on to do long haul trucking with Dick Simon and Knight Transportation. He also drove locally for Buz Boyd, Royal Express, and Northstate Readymix.

He loved his family and friends, enjoyed fishing, hunting and just being outdoors.

John was predeceased by his father, John Samuel Coats, and son-in-law Dan Zempel.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Marlene Coats of Cottonwood, his two children, son Danny Coats (Gail) of Happy Valley, daughter, Sandee Zempel (fiancée Jeff) of Redding, mother, Marie Coats, brother, Lonnie Coats (Bonnie), sister, Donna McIndoo (fiancée John) all of Redding.

Four grandchildren, Elycia and Amanda Zempel, Jeremy and Hailee Coats, and many other family members and friends.

He will be greatly missed and was loved dearly.
