He was born on July 30, 1951 in Redding to Clyde and Charlene Brown, and was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Loren. Ken was raised in Anderson and attended Anderson High School, class of 1970. After high school, Ken spent some time in Arkansas working on his uncle’s farm. He returned to Anderson and entered the Army in 1972. During his tour, Ken spent one year in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1974.
Ken returned to Anderson where he was employed for a time in the box factory at Kimberly Clark Corporation. Later, while playing foosball for recreation, he met his wife, Carolyn. Their mutual love and enjoyment of foosball blossomed into a marriage of over 30 years, and for a time the two held the title of “Mixed Doubles Champions”. Ken worked professionally organizing, promoting, and playing in foosball tournaments across the country.
Eventually Ken and Carolyn settled in Redding where they raised their 3 children: Michelle (Andrew Reeves) and daughter Reagan, of El Dorado Hills; Sean of Oregon; and Christopher (Rebecca) of Sacramento.
Ken worked for many years at the Redding Municipal Airport for various companies handling aviation fuel. Ken retired this year and was looking forward to a new segment in his life.
He enjoyed fishing and golf, but felt both were more enjoyable when with family or friends. He had a contagious laugh, and anytime spent with Ken was memorable! He had an upbeat and outgoing personality that made you feel blessed to have him in your life.
Ken loved family and his friends. He loved to cook and barbeque and the best of times were when these were combined! His faith in God was something that he shared readily and church for him was his “happy place”.
Ken also leaves his older brother, Charles (MaryAnn) of Port Orchard, WA; sister Nila Mitchell (Dave) of Anderson, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends spanning coast-to-coast.
Ken left us far too soon, was dearly loved, and will be sorely missed.hurch Service will be held at Church of Christ, 3134 North St, Anderson, Ca on Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
