Bishop Mack Harris was born in Bryan, Texas on October 28, 1928 to Eunice Jordan Harris and Leroy Harris, Sr. Bishop Harris moved to California when he was 17 to join the Air Force. After completing his tour, he met and married Lou Ethel Slocum-Harris (deceased), and had 7 children. He later married Marie Lee-Harris and had two children. He was currently married to Josephine Baker-Harris and was father to her four children.

Bishop Mack Harris was called into ministry at a very early age and remained in ministry for over 60 years. The most accomplished was being Pastor of All Nations Church of God In Christ for over 48 years. He loved his church family as his own family, later passing the reins over to his son David Harris.

Bishop Harris was a trusted member of the Board of SCEMA (Local Pastors), the Interfaith Board, and the Alliance Board. He volunteered many hours mentoring inmates. After retiring he loved to volunteer at various missions. Bishop Harris was one of the first African American Chaplains in Shasta County.

Bishop Mack Harris was a man of HONOR NOT DISRESPECT. He believed and strongly taught that honor begins with a relationship with God. He was a "bridge builder" believing in healing and reconstruction in dealing with racism in the nation. He believed God loved all people regardless of race. Bishop Harris often said, "any human being's heart can change if the spirit of God got ahold of them."

Bishop Harris was a patient, kind, gentle, soft spoken man. He was loved by ALL and met no strangers. He was a man of integrity and passion and had no tolerance for gossiping and arguing. Always a positive person with positive words for all.

In Loving Memory Bishop Harris brought the best out in ALL. He was known to be a sharp dresser and always wore a suit (even when feeding his animals). He raised chickens, hogs, cows, geese and whatever he could get his hands on. He was an avid fisherman, a hunter and he loved to BBQ Texas style. I didn't know Bishop Personally, but know some of the family. My condolences to all of the family for your lost. From what I read in the obituary, Bishop was an incredible man of God and many were blessed by his life, his actions and his walk. May God comfort you all during your time of grief, and as you continue on the legacy that was laid out before you.

Bishop Harris modeled servant leadership. He was not only a congregational pastor but also a community pastor. His love for the Lord and people continues to inspire us all to own the Great Commission of our Lord to share the Good News and hope within us. The words, well done thou good and faithful servant ring true for Bishop Harris.
