Maria Socorro Correa, age 66, of Redding, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Born in Mexico, Maria made the brave journey to the United States, where she worked hard to build a beautiful life. She achieved two of her proudest milestones by becoming a United States citizen and earning her high school diploma, demonstrating her lifelong dedication to learning and growth.
Maria was married for 44 wonderful years to her devoted husband, Eusebio. Together, they built a vibrant, loving home. A natural caregiver, Maria expressed her deep love through food. Her kitchen was always open, and she took immense joy in cooking and feeding everyone who walked through her door.
When she wasn't in the kitchen, Maria could be found in her yard. Her garden was her absolute sanctuary. She spent hours outdoors, happily planting flowers and moving things around until everything looked exactly right. Maria also possessed a sharp wit and a sharp eye for value; she loved a good bargain and took great pride in always finding the absolute best deals.
Above all, Maria’s greatest legacy is her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Eusebio; her four children, Mariano, Veronica, Antonio, and Eusebio; and her seven cherished grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life. Her warmth, her generous spirit, and her delicious meals will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
