Olive Donaldson, age 81 passed away on January 5, 2012 at Mercy Hospital after a short hospitalization. She was born on June 30, 1930 to Charles and Ester Anson of Essex, NY. She moved to Shasta County in 1952 to work as a teacher. She taught at Enterprise High School, Rother and Mistletoe Elementary. She received a MA in Special Education in 1977 from Chico State.

She married Richard Knudsen in 1964 and had two sons. After his death in 1985 she married Fred Donaldson in 1989. He preceded her in death. She traveled broadly in retirement and was a champion fiddle player. She was a lifetime member of District 6 Old Time Fiddlers Association, a member of the Red Hats and the Friends Association. Her musical performances were a part of many concerts, weddings and public and private gatherings for many years. She played with the Back 40 String Band.

She is survived by her son Karre Knudsen of Sacramento and her step son Jeff Donaldson of Los Angeles. A celebration of life pot luck dinner will be held in her honor. She will be interred with her family in Westwood Cemetery. contact info at 1-530-515-1305.
