Patricia Elaine McCarthy

Patricia Elaine McCarthy of Redding, CA, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the age of 89. Patricia was born April 13, 1937 in Oakland, CA, to Stanley and Dorothy Svoboda. She graduated from Shasta High School and went to work for Pacific Telephone where she worked for over 35 years from where she eventually retired.

Patricia married the love of her life, George Lewis “Lou” McCarthy, who many called Mac! They were a match made in heaven and remained married until he passed in July 2002. They had two daughters together. Patricia loved to golf and enjoyed playing cards with her dear friends. Patricia will be remembered as a wonderful person and the best mother her daughters could ever have asked for. She was a very giving and fun loving person.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, who was also her best friend, Lyn Miles, and Son-In-Law, Ray Miles, her beloved grandson Stephen Sigler and her great grandson Cole Sigler, both whom she adored. She is also survived by her sister Irene Western and BIL Barry Western, her sister Lynda Hickman and BIL Brit Hickman, her brother Paul Svoboda and SIL Sharon Svoboda as well as our beloved Ed and Colleen McCarthy. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews that she adored. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lewis and daughter Karen Ramsey.

A Celebration of Life/Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday July 10, 2026 with a viewing from 10-11 am, Service from 11-12 and a Celebration of Life to follow right afterwards all located at Lawncrest Memorial Park and Chapel, 1522 E Cypress Ave, Redding, CA.
