May 18, 1928 - October 21, 2011
Patricia M. Olsen passed away peacefully in her home with her husband of 54 years and her daughter by her side.
Pat was born in Medford, Oregon to Edward and Edna Albern. She attended Oregon State University, and after graduation, began her career as a teacher. Shortly after that, she met John Olsen, and in December of 1957 they were married. She taught at Central Valley High School the first year the school opened, and spent 20 years in the education field doing the job she loved.
After retirement, she spent her time doing the things that she loved and that were most important to her.
There were so many things about her that were unique and wonderful, there could never be enough room to list them all; however, she was an avid gardener, reader, a wonderful cook, and an incredible wife and mother. Patricia also loved people and enjoyed a full house and family gatherings. She was certainly one of the strongest, spirited, classy, most loving women that walked this earth, and those of us that were fortunate enough to have her in our lives have been truly blessed.
Patricia is survived by her husband, John Olsen, her daughter, Merry Olsen, and her beloved dog that faithfully stayed with her and watched over her, Ziggy. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Barbra Albern, nieces Carla Fong and Sharon Albern, nephew Steven Albern, and several other wonderful family members.
There will be a memorial to celebrate her life on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the family home. All family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate her life and share their memories. Call 241-1794 for more information.
Arrangements under the direction of Lawncrest Memorial Chapel, Redding, CA.
