Rick (RT) a native son of a native son, born and raised in Chico, CA. Son of Ivan and Thelma Seiler, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Redding, CA. He graduated from Chico High, attended Chico State, Butte & Yuba College,went on to earn an Associates Degree in Science, entering into fulfilling career in the duo field of Radiology (AART) & Nuclear Medicine (CNMT), as a Certified Technologist. Speciality in Cardio-Thorasic Nuclear Studies.
Employment included; Freemont Hosp, Yuba City, Enloe Medical Center, Chico, Mercy & Shasta Regional Medical Center & Nuclear Cardiology Associates of Northern CA., Redding.
During a break in his studies, he resided in Loleta then Ferndale, CA, worked at Carlotta Lumber Company. Married Mary C. Dodd (Kitty), stationed at Naval Facility Centerville Beach, in Ferndale. Spent three years at NAS Roosevelt Roads, Ceiba, Puerto Rico, before returning and resuming his education, eventually settling in Redding, CA.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years (Kitty), Children: Meaghan Ledbetter (Joshua) and Luke (Groton, CT), Grandchildren: Mackenzie, Ivan & Thomas; his Mother, brother-Ron (Lydia) of Chico, & sister-Kathie Bell (Bob) of Idaho. Numerous Nieces & Nephews across the USA. He is preceded in death by his Father Ivan, Grandmother Susie Harris.
Rick will be laid to rest on Dec 17, 2020. A Graveside service (family only).
A Celebration of Life, will be held in January for family & close friends, service to be made available on Live-stream @ Grace Redding.Org. Covid guidelines will be observed.
Rick, an avid out of doors man; hunter, diver, fisherman, lived off bounty of sea & land. He was a rockhound, cut, polished & fashioned jewelry from his finds. A woodworker, all around do it yourself type guy. He kept a large year round garden & fruit orchard. Loved to cook, can & preserve food.
Always an active in choir & his church community. Member of Ferndale Community Choir, Shasta Celtic Society, Scout Leader, Society of Nuclear Medicine/AART. Always supportive of his wife & son's Active Duty Military
& part of Local Veteran group endeavors. With the desire to Honor ALL
the men and women who have served.
