Ross Joseph Alessandro 56 of Burney California passed away on June 27, 2020. He had courageously fought cancer for several years and passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Redding California with his children by his side.
He was born on October 7, 1963 in Palo Alto to Carol LaFleur & Ross Alessandro. Ross along with his three siblings were raised in Fremont. He attended school at Blacow Elementary, Horner Junior High, Saint Leonard and Irvington High. He spent summers with his family, including his grandmother, uncle, aunt and cousins in Clearlake where he learned to ski and love the water. In 1984 he enlisted in the United States Navy and joined the Seabee’s. Where he learned to build, fight and drink. After honorably serving in the military he became a machinist and metal fabricator. He returned to Fremont, married and had three children. His children and later his grandchildren were the center of his world. He lived in Fremont, Brentwood and Burney California. He was a private person but the life of the party. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a trickster and a joker. He liked to help people; a neighbor with a project, a friend fix a car or put his arm around your shoulder when you needed someone to listen. He made time for everyone. He liked drinking beer with his friends at Jack’s, watching his beloved Oakland Raiders, listening to heavy metal, camping and riding his Harley. Mostly, he liked spending time with his three children and being a “crazy weirdo” Papa to his four grandchildren.
Ross is survived by his children and their families-his son Ross William & daughter-in-law Heather Alessandro and their daughters Rebecca and Rachel of Burney; his son Maurice Alessandro and his daughter Sienna of Redding; and daughter Alesha Yabra & fiancé Staff Sargent Matt Konar and her son Mason Schmidt of Wheatland. He is survived by his parents Carol LaFleur of Fremont & Ross Leroy Alessandro of Lincoln. His sister Elaine & brother-in-law Junior Krows of Boulder City, Nevada. Sister Kathleen & brother-in-law Rick Urgo of Fresno and brother Frank La Fleur of San Francisco. He is survived by his uncle, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, the Gibson Family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Hosted by his children will be held on Saturday August 1, 2020 from 3pm to 5pm at Jack’s Brewing Company in Fremont, California.
