Alan Keith Hammack was born September 15, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Amos and Charlotte Hammack. He was one of 5 children. Alan passed away quietly on Wednesday December 27, 2017 in his Redford Township, Michigan home at the age of 56.
Beloved son of Amos and the late Charlotte (Beeler) Hammack. Loving brother of Linda (Donald) Manchester, the late Amos Eugene (the late Gail) Hammack, George Lee Hammack, and the late Jerry Hammack. Dear uncle of Melissa (Tim) Randall, and Donald (Laura) Manchester Jr. Great-uncle of Hannah, Amelia, Evelyn & Owen Randall, Stacia, Breanna, Ava, & Megan Manchester.
Alan worked at Toys-R-Us in the stocking department. He loved getting away to his aunt Stella's house in the country. It was his peaceful retreat. He also enjoyed his H.A.M Radio hobby and listening to his police scanner. While he was enjoying his two favorite hobbies, he could sometimes be found enjoying his two favorite snacks: Pizza and Coca Cola. Alan loved nature and he was an animal lover, especially dogs. He always wanted to move to Tennessee to be near his favorite hide-a-way at his aunt's house, so he could enjoy the peaceful surroundings of animals and nature.
Alan's family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4-8pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 25450 Plymouth Road (East of Beech Daly). His life will be celebrated with a funeral service at the funeral home at 10:30am, on Saturday, January 6, 2018. Luncheon to follow. Alan will be laid to rest with his family in Glen Eden Memorial Park Cemetery, Livonia, Michigan following the luncheon. The funeral and committal services will be led by Pastor Barry Bedwell of Faith Baptist Church in Canton, Michigan.
