

Bill is survived by his loving daughters, Holly Steinmueller-Veracruz, Heather (Ron) Royer, and Jamie Steinmueller; grandchildren Britney (Victor), Kobe (Clayton), Annika, Rachel, and Sarah; and great-grandchildren Ellie and Naomi. He is also survived by his sister Cara (David) Nims, his brother Frank Steinmueller, and his nephew Sean Steinmueller.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Connie, whom he married on June 9, 1979, and who passed away on May 10, 1996, as well as his second wife, Sharon, whom he married on February 16, 1997, and who passed away on April 17, 2001.
Bill graduated from Cody High School in 1964 and went on to Highland Park College, earning his associate degree in 1967. In 1969, he proudly joined the United States Army and served honorably until his discharge in 1975. He later worked for the City of Detroit as a Transportation Equipment Operator, a position he held from 1974 until his retirement in 2011.
A simple and humble man, Bill enjoyed the quiet pleasures of life. He loved crossword puzzles and sudoku, and he was an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered for the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. His gentle spirit and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home. In memory of Bill, memorial donations can be made to: Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
He will be greatly missed.
