

Carole Ruth Holsey was called home to glory on December 6, 2025, 16 days shy of her 88th birthday. Born Carole Ruth Burnette in Detroit, Michigan, she was the second of seven daughters blessed to the union of Wilbert and Grace Burnette.
Prior to retirement, Carole was a Language Arts teacher at Brooks Middle School in Detroit. In earlier years, she was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Receiving Hospital, also in Detroit.
Carole is survived by three of her sisters: Sandra White, Wilberta Johnson and Sharon (Ronald) Allen; three children — Dona (Dennis) Rhodes, Julie (Cornelius) Hunter and Charles (Elaina) Holsey Jr. She also leaves a legacy of eight grandchildren — Teren, Dawn, Brittani, Lauren, Alexis, Diana, Makayla and Carlie — four great-grandchildren — Darrnell, Xavier, William and Rya— and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carole is reunited in eternal rest with her husband, Charles Holsey Sr., her daughter, Michelle, and her sisters Gloria Drew, Grace Louise Walter, and Andrea Ashford, who preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 25450 Plymouth Rd., Redford Township, MI 48239. Funeral Services will be held on December 27, 2025, at Life Church Southfield, 21840 W. Nine Mile Rd., Southfield, MI 48075. Family hour: 10:00 am Service: 11:00 am
