

Edith was a librarian and teacher for the Detroit Public School District for 30 years. She retired from teaching at the age of 64, after she met and married George Wildhery. Edith met George while on a cruise around the world. Edith and George lived in Port Charlotte, FL and vacationed at their summer home in Leamington, Ontario, Canada. She enjoyed being by the seaside and visiting with family and friends every summer.
In addition to being a world traveler, she was also a collector and enjoyed collecting dolls and music boxes from different cultures. Edith always interested in learning something about the origins of the items she collected.
Edith was an avid reader and lifelong learner. Although she lost her eyesight to Macular Degeneration, she did not lose her passion for learning and life. She listened to books on tape and the daily news. She showed an interested in the times and events going on in the world.
Visitation will be held Monday July 30, 2012 from 2-9 pm and Tuesday July 31, 2012 from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 am at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, Redford.
