OBITUARY

George Maron Jr.

May 24, 1944May 3, 2020

George Maron Jr. was born in Highland Park, Michigan on May 24, 1944. He was one of two children born to George Sr., and Sadie Maron. George passed away peacefully in Westland, Michigan on May, 3, 2020 at the age of 75.

George met and fell in love with Sandra Postelle when she was just 16 years old and they have spent over 60 years as a couple in love. George and Sandy would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on May 5, 2020. George also leaves behind two children; George (Katelyn) Maron III, and Sharon Marie (Robert) Lombard, as well as his granddaughter, Elizabeth Maron. George is survived by his sister, Anita Maron and nephew, Joseph Gehadaf.

George was the Produce Manager at Hillers Markets for over 40 years until he retired. He made many life-long friends within his “Hillers family” In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing with his dogs, listening to his oldies rock-n-roll music and he had a love of horseracing. George simply enjoyed watching the thoroughbreds thunder down the track at the old DRC, Hazel Park, and Northville Downs. However, his passion was his family. He loved being a husband, father and a new grandfather.

The family will receive guests for a viewing on Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 10:30am until 12:30pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 25450 Plymouth Road, Redford Township, Michigan 48239.

Georgie became my buddy at Hiller’s. He had the best smile. We shared many laughs, and he was very kind to me. My deepest sympathies to his family, and to his Hiller’s family.

George was my produce manager when l got hired in at shopping center mkt back in 1976.
George was a great guy, he took me under his wing and showed me how to order & set a department. Out side of work ,George loved the horses, we would go to north field downs, and bet on the races. His favorite was the Kentucky derby. Going to miss you buddy.

George was my first manager back in 1976 when l got hire in at shopping center mkt. He was a great guy that taught me alot about proudce, and how to set up a department. Out side of work , we would get to gather with the other employees and go to the track. He loved the horses, plus the Kentucky derby was his favorite. Going to miss you buddy.

I was so saddened to hear about George's passing. He was a wonderful man. He was the best produce manager that I had for over 30 years. I will never forget him. My sincerest condolences to all of his family. Fabrizio
