

Henry Joseph Parnis was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 12, 1928. He completed high school and was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Korean Conflict. Henry worked for most of his career with General Motors as an assembly man. He lived almost all of his life in the Detroit area, and was very active in several community organizations such as the Redford Senior Center, St. Hilary Catholic Church and Meals On Wheels. Henry was also very proud of his membership in the VFW Grand River Post #1519 in Novi, Michigan. He will be remembered as a generous man who did everything meticulously.
Friends may visit Henry's family during a visitation in his honor on Sunday March 25, 2012 from 4-9 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home at 25450 Plymouth Road in Redford, Michigan 48239. During the visitation, his VFW Post will do a Memorial Ritual Service in his honor at 6 pm and a Wake Service will be prayed in his memory at 7 pm. The funeral home is located on the north side of Plymouth Road, between Telegraph and Beech Daly Roads.
Funeral services for Henry will be on Monday March 26, 2012 at his church, St. Hilary Catholic Church, 23901 Elmira in Redford, Michigan 48239. He will lie in state at the church from 9:30 am until his Funeral Mass at 10 am. The church is located off of Appelton Street, which is found on the south side of Plymouth Road and east of Telegraph Road.
His committal and Army Military Honors Services will be held at the Mausoleum of Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield Michigan. The cemetery is located at the intersection of W. Ten Mile Road and Beech Daly Road.
Henry's family asks that memorials be made in his honor to Meals On Wheels.
