Lorin E. Tremain, 87, of Redford, passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer on September 12, 2019. Lorin was born on May 1, 1932, the first of four sons born to H. Earl and J. Mildred Tremain in New Cambria, Kansas. When he was a young teen his family moved to Michigan. Lorin graduated in 1951 from Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955 working in the Chaplain's office and on airplanes. Lorin was a lifelong mechanic and received recognition from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. He was self-taught re-building player pianos, and could fix or repair anything on a car, in the house or in the yard. He was the ultimate problem-solver. He enjoyed and loved animals of all types.
Mr. Tremain is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Elizabeth A. "Betty". Dear father of David (Karin) Tremain, Mary (Ed) Glassford, Joseph Tremain, and Diane Teddy; brother, Robert (Trudy) Tremain and sisters-in-law, Linda Tremain and Barbara Altwies. Beloved grandfather of Adam Tremain, Eddie Glassford, Clark Teddy, and Tiffany Teddy. One great-granddaughter also survives. Lorin was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lorin was pre-deceased by his brothers, Donald and Gerry Tremain.
Friends may visit from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 25450 Plymouth Road (East of Beech-Daly), Redford, Michigan 48239. Visitation continues on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Sabina Catholic Church 25555 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127. Interment will follow mass at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
