Mark “Harley” Carley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on May 9, 1954, in North Attleborough, Massachusetts to Larry and Doris (Boillard) Carley, Mark lived a full and vibrant life, rich in love, laughter, and service.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Mark served his country with honor and continued to carry that spirit of service throughout his life. He remained active in veterans’ causes and was known for his generous heart—every Veterans Day, Mark would cook and serve a free homemade dinner for fellow veterans, covering the cost himself. It was just one of many ways he showed his deep appreciation for others.
After his service, fate brought Del into his life. Just two weeks after they met, Mark proposed, knowing in his heart that she was the one. They were married on August 10, 1975, and spent nearly five decades building a life together, raising three children and creating countless memories. Mark was the rock of his family, devoted and deeply loving.
Mark had a magnetic personality—he was a jokester, a legendary storyteller, and someone people naturally gravitated toward. Friends and family recall him as the best storyteller they knew, with a way of capturing a room and leaving everyone in awe.
Known by many as “Harley,” Mark was a proud member of the Blue Angels Motorcycle Club. He had a true passion for riding and loved the open road. He also enjoyed woodworking, camping, traveling, bowling, and was once an umpire, coach, and Boy Scout troop leader. He was a man of many skills and interests.
An exceptional cook, Mark was famous for his chili, spaghetti, and stuffed shells—family favorites that will be forever remembered. Above all, Mark cherished his family. His love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds, and he took great pride in each of them.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Del Carley; three children: Amanda (Demario) McCray, Mark (Jeanne Cole) Carley III, and Jaimie (Keith) Bryant; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Doris Carley.
Memorial contributions in his honor are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project.
Mark “Harley” Carley leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, service, and unforgettable stories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
