Mary J. Samarian

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Avedis Samarian. Their love story began while she was cruising Telegraph with her best friend, Alex, when they first met Avedis at the local Big Boy. They married on September 1, 1973, and shared a joyful and devoted marriage until his passing on November 1, 1995. In 2005, Mary found love again with Chester Bednarzyk, with whom she shared a caring and supportive partnership until his passing in 2012.

Mary was the loving mother of Robert (Lisa) Samarian and Jennifer Ritter. She was the proud grandmother of Katie Samarian, Russell Samarian, DJ Samarian, Justin Ritter, Alex Ritter, and Angel Ritter, and the cherished great-grandmother of Karter Michael Ritter. She is also survived by her close friend who was like a sister, Alex Wojton, along with many other dear friends and extended family who will miss her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her mother and adopted father, Rosalie and Zeke Harmon; her biological father, Buster Ayers; her brothers, Larry and Mark Harmon; her in-laws, Hatcher and Rose Samarian; and her sister-in-law, Joyce Samarian.

Funeral visitation will be held at Harry J. Will Funeral Homes, 25450 Plymouth Rd., Redford, Michigan, 48239, on December 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at the same location on December 13, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM. Mary will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park.

Her warmth, humor, and loving spirit will be forever remembered by all who knew her.
