Melvin H. Edwards

Born on November 6, 1936, in Alabama, Melvin later made his home in Detroit, Michigan, where he built a life centered on family, strength, and quiet dedication. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, wisdom, and the love he shared with those closest to him.

Melvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Edwards. Together they shared a life filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Melvin leaves behind his beloved children, Melinda Robinson and Marvin Edwards, along with his cherished grandchildren, Marcel Johnson, Lil Marvin, and Miles, who brought him immense pride and joy. His memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved deeply.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Homes, 25450 Plymouth Rd., Redford, Michigan 48239. A funeral service celebrating Melvin’s life will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m.

Committal services with Military Honors will take place later that day at 1:30 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442.

Melvin’s legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family will forever be treasured by all who knew him.
