Ofelia Alonzo, age 88, of Dearborn, Michigan passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Ofelia was born January 19, 1933 in Archer City, Texas to Aurelio and Maria Alonzo. Ofelia’s desire to see the world followed two of her sisters enlisting in the United States Army serving three years as an Administrative Assistant. She continued her career at Henry Ford Hospital Microbiology Department as a secretary and retired after being employed over 20 years.
Ofelia was always interested in higher education and obtained a Bachelor Accounting degree at Wayne State University. She was active in the Red Hats Society and volunteered on a regular basis.
She is survived by her nieces Maria White, Houston, TX, Elizabeth Mendez, Wichita Falls, TX, Carol Powers, New Cortlandt, NY, Cynthia Paredes, Laredo, TX, Esther Gomez, Wichita Falls, TX and nephews Mercedez Perez, Austin, TX, Tommy Alonzo, Wichita Falls, TX, Michael Alonzo, Wichita Falls, TX, Lee Ramirez, Gold Canyon, AZ and David Bailey, Dearborn, MI (deceased).

My aunt whom I loved. She was always kind. I remember when I was young, she wanted to take me to get my ears pierced. Of course my dad said no. But I really appreciated her for trying for me. May God protect you and keep you. Love, Esther
