

Phillip Rudolph Jackson was born to Julia Valdes and Allen Jackson in Jacksonville, FL on January 24th, 1944 with 4 siblings, brother Allen Jackson Jr (preceded in death), sister’s Barbara Jackson, Rosilynnd King, and Iris Preston. At the age of 81, Phillip passed away on Wednesday February 5th, 2025 in West Bloomfield, MI.
Shortly after graduating high school, Phil served in The United States Army from 1969-1971. He then went on to obtain his Bachelor's of Arts in 1975 and a Masters of Social Work in 1979 at The University of Michigan. During his time at U of M he joined the Divine 9 greek organizations Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Phil enjoyed playing tennis, chess, watching western movies, and traveling. During his time in Vietnam he learned to speak Thai and enjoyed Vietnamese cuisine. He also loved African, Jazz, and classical music.
Phil leaves behind his loving, caring, and devoted wife of 20 years Marguerite Lyn Jackson whom he met in 1992; His children Phillip Jackson Jr (Cynthia) 2 grandchildren, Phyllis Terrell (preceded in death) 3 grandchildren, Victoria Glenn (Terry) 4 grandchildren, and Symone Kumar. Also, he leaves behind several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family. Phillip Jackson impacted so many lives and will be greatly missed.
