Ronald Dudley Celestine Mayers

He was born in Arima, Trinidad on July 27th 1950, to Dudley and Elaine Mayers. He was one of 4 children, Margaret Mayers, The late Richard “Nappy” Mayers, and the late Peter Mayers.

As a young boy growing up in Trinidad, Ronald attained a lot of skill sets and many trades. He had a passion for cooking, music and working on cars. During his journey through his young adult life, he became a self-taught auto mechanic. Through his knowledge of cars, Ronald was able to build a community of trust and true friendships. He was not only defined by his mechanical abilities, but his humility, kindness and willingness to embrace life. He was very cultured and loved telling friends and family about his “little island” Trinidad and Tobago. He immigrated to the United States in 1991 and settled in Michigan. His warm personality and skill set helped him build that same community he had back home in Trinidad.

Ronald is survived by the love of his life of 32 years, Anne Lowe; his sister Margaret Mayers, his children Keisha Mayers, Charla Mayers ( Michael Gray), Richard Mayers, Myles Mayers and Cadeisha Mayers, as well as his former spouse Judith Clarke. He will be truly missed by all of his grandchildren, Kamron Mayers, Essa Faye, Joli Mayers, Messiah Crooks, and Sarai Mayers. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who he loved whole-heartedly. Ronald will forever be remembered as a father figure and great friend to many.

The family will receive friends for a visitation from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 25450 Plymouth Road, Redford Twp., MI 48239 (Between Telegraph and Beech Daly). Ronald's life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the funeral home. The service will be led by Reverend Steven Campbell of Bethesda Temple of Detroit Apostolic Church. Ronald’s final place of rest will be back in his homeland, sweet T and T, no place on earth he’d rather be.
