

Ron was born in Riverton, NJ on November 22, 1942, to the parents of Clemmen and Gertrude Morton. He grew up in Palmyra, NJ and after high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was based in Peru, Indiana. After leaving the US Air Force, he was employed and retired from the NJ Department of Corrections in Trenton, NJ. He moved to Detroit in 1988 and worked various jobs.
Ron enjoyed reading James Patterson novels and was known to sit on the porch on a hot summer day reading and waving to neighbors that passed by. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was the life of the party. He enjoyed working in the yard and grilling during the summer months. He was very active and didn’t sit still too long.
In addition to his beloved companion Diana, he leaves to mourn his siblings, James Morton, Rudolph Morton and Caroline Parker. His children, David Morton, Nicole Hampton, Rachael Tyler, Bryan Morton and Ronald Morton Jr. His grandchildren, Kyanna and Tracee James, Candice Riggs, Camai Morton and Bryce Morton. He was preceded in passing by his brothers, Neal and Wille Morton, his daughter, Lisa G. James and his parents, Clemmen and Gertude Morton.
The memorial service will be held at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Redford Twp, MI on
Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 12:00pm.
The family will be present to welcome loved ones for Family hour between 11:00am and 12:00pm.
