Vicki passed away in the early hours of May 26, 2023, at the age of 65 at Garden City Hospital in Michigan, after a courageous 17 year battle with leukemia/lymphoma. She was surrounded by her family at bedside as they watched her fade away. A private family service will be held on May 31st at 1:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home in Redford, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her Father George Edward Goodrich, Mother Lila Mae Goodrich and Brother Robert “Bobby” Goodrich.
Victoria was born on June 3, 1957 in Petoskey, Michigan and grew up in Alanson surrounded by her large family, she had 8 siblings along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was influenced by her family to be a hard-working, loving and caring woman. Soon after she graduated from Littlefield High School, she became a Mother at age 19, made a home in Howell, Michigan and later raised a family of three children on a small 3 acre farm. She was not the traditional housewife, was both the provider and homemaker and discovered there wasn’t much she couldn’t do.
Vicki spent the majority of her career at Metaldyne, a manufacturer in the auto industry, where she engineered both the parts and machines to produce exhaust manifolds for several vehicles. She was a problem solver and knew just what to do to keep things moving forward and would often do the job of others. She did some incredible masonry and woodwork and even owned/operated a pizzeria in which she created all the marketing. In her retirement years she helped her husband with the success of his brother's pizzeria.
Even through cancer, Vicki continued to work and raise her 3 grandchildren as if they were her own. She found great purpose in helping others who had a need and offered all that she had. She was a researcher at heart and knew more than any doctor about her disease. She turned to her Christian faith when she needed encouragement and chose to fight till the very end. Her physical body is gone, but now living eternally and at home with the Lord. Vicki will be especially remembered for her strong family values, smile, strength, wisdom, courage and generosity.
Vicki was quiet and passive at times, but learned to stand firm in her beliefs. She had a heart of gold and cared about humanity and the world. When given a prayer blanket she wanted to crochet one to reciprocate. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, had a passion for sewing and was extremely good at it. She could sew anything if given enough time and could make her own patterns! She also enjoyed cross-stitch, knitting, and crocheting. Many were in awe of both her knowledge and creations and she was happy to teach what she knew or how she did it. She liked to garden and her favorite flowers were roses,
peonies and morning glories. She loved making all sorts of yummy treats in the kitchen from scratch and could even turn ingredients she had on hand into something really delicious without even following a recipe!
Vicki was the beloved wife to husband Sarkis Najarian for 25 years. Loving mother to her three children, Tina Gardner, Lori McGovern, Amy Spence, and stepson Robert Najarian. Cherished grandmother to Owen Williams, Krysta Najarian, Preston Najarian, Logan Gardner, Andrew Gardner, Scarlett Spence. Dear sister to Jerry (Rachael) Goodrich, Barb (Mike) Sherwood, Ken (Sheryl) Goodrich, Dennis “Deano” Goodrich, Joan (AL) Green, Margie (Dave) Golovich, Mary (Donnie) Howell. Adoring Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family.
