Irene Maryann Mulrooney

Irene Mulrooney passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A cherished wife, devoted mother, and loyal friend, Irene was admired by all who knew her for her strength, kindness, and enduring spirit.

Raised in Chicago, Irene had a sense of adventure and a love for sunshine. At just 19 years old, she decided to trade snowy winters for the warmth of California, where she began working in data processing for IBM Corporation. It was during one ordinary workday, in an elevator that stopped on the "wrong" floor, that fate introduced her to Vince Mulrooney. That chance meeting led to a love story that spanned 55 wonderful years. Irene and Vince were married on July 18, 1970, and together built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Irene’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Vince, their five children, and numerous cherished grandchildren. She took immense pride in the family she raised and the warmth of their close bond.

Remembered for her radiant smile, her gentle heart, and the way she made everyone feel welcome, Irene leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit and her love will remain in our hearts forever.

She may be gone—but she will never be forgotten.
