Kathleen "Kathy" M. Biggs was born March 30, 1949, in Seattle, WA. At 3.5 years of age, it was determined through consultations with the University of Washington and the Ryther Child Center that she had brain damage from birth. In 1962 she moved with her family to Lake Oswego, OR, then to Salem, OR in 1970, and back to the Kirkland/Bothell/Kenmore area in 1983. She was in and out of public and private schools throughout her educational years, including the Nellie Goodhue School in Seattle and Shangri-La in Salem.
She was active in Special Olympics and People First in Salem. As an adult, she worked at McDonald’s and the Northshore Senior Center and attended Sound Mental Health activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Marilyn Biggs, and survived by four siblings Suzanne Fricke, Kerri Carter, John Biggs, and Bill Biggs.
Kathy loved American Bandstand, parades, birthdays, Sea fair, sports, and potlucks. She was a people person who readily made both friends and adversaries. Her family thanks all those community members who protected and loved her unconditionally.
