Margaret Keegan Donovan was born on September 18, 1923, to Peter and Clara Keegan, in Richmond Hill, New York. She passed away on December 4, 2019, in Kirkland, Washington.

She attended Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School in Brooklyn, New York and graduated in June of 1941.

She started her business career working for an insurance company in New York City. With so many young men going off to the war the office was soon run by women. Margaret worked until her marriage to Rhoads Donovan in 1949.

Margaret had an adventurous spirit. She has lived in eight states in the US during her long life. She was an avid baker; everyone in the family will remember the crumb cake she made from her mother Clara's recipe.

Margaret is survived by her sister Claire DiSanto and brother-in-law Frank Szabo . She is survived by her four children: Patrice (Philip) Grospe, Maris Donovan, Matthew (Darcy) Donovan, and Beth (John) Welsh.

She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Laura Pacheco and grandson-in-law Joe McCarron, Jennifer Pacheco, Michelle (Adam) Horton, Josh Donovan, and Gabriel Donovan, and her great-grandchildren; Zoe Horton, Lark McCarron, Nolan McCarron, Livi Pacheco-Lopez, Maddie Pacheco-Lopez, and Emily Donovan, and Robby Willumsen

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Clara, and her grandson Rob Willumsen, who passed away in 2001.

The Donovan family and Pacheco girls would like to say thank you to all the Grospe's. They have remembered Margaret’s birthdays, included her in family events, and loved our mother like their own grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margaret's name to the Alzheimer's Association: https://act.alz.org/.
