Renate I Iverson

February 16, 1938January 17, 2013

Renate Ilse Iverson lived a long, meaningful life focused on her family, faith and friends. She slipped away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on January 17, 2013. She valiantly fought ovarian cancer for four and a half years and now dwells in the presence of God. Renate was the second daughter born to devoted parents Willy and Elisabeth Trumpp on February 16, 1938 in Frankfurt, Germany. There she developed into a beautiful, spirited young woman where she learned how to wear a purse, tidy up a house and love unconditionally. She was fortunate to meet and marry Ron Mann and soon after left for America to start a new adventure. Renate’s greatest desire was to become a mother and was blessed with four wonderful children. She taught them how to love and found joy and happiness in seeing them grow into adulthood. In 1986 Renate met the love of her life, Jerry Iverson and enjoyed her fairytale life with him traveling the world. Their family and friends would find a heaven on earth as they spent time with them in Seattle and in their favorite place, Maui. No ka ‘oi. Renate’s faith was unwavering; she believed that love and our relationships will go on forever. Her legacy was one of selfless service, love and bringing joy to others. She is deeply cherished and will be greatly missed by her family: loving husband; Jerry Iverson, wonderful children; Rod Mann (Suzanne), Yvonne Fletcher, Heidi Hass (David), Miki Mann (Patti) and Trina Hofford (Frank), 15 beautiful grandchildren and 7 sweet great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 26th at 2:00 pm located at the LDS Church, 4200 – 124th Ave. SE, Bellevue, WA 98006. There will be a ‘Celebration of Life’ following the service at Newport Yacht Club, 81 Skagit Key, Bellevue, WA 98006. Please join us anytime between 3:30-7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Renate’s memory to either Providence Hospice of Seattle Foundation or Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

Renate was a wonderful friend. So kind and sweet and caring as well as funny and full of life. We enjoyed many happy years working together at F&N where our co-workers were like a big family and that is how I grew to feel like Renate was like a member of my family. I will miss Renate and will keep her and all of you, her beautiful family in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Renate, thank you for the friendship you shared with us for so many years (since 1968). Thank you for the week you and Hannelore spent with me and my family when I got married while living in California. Thank you for all the great lunches and get togethers we had with the ladies from Frederick and Nelson. Thank you for all the great photos you took at Vernon's wedding in Maui, letting my parents and aunt use your wonderful condo, and the time you spent with us during that wonderful week. Thank you for your wonderful smile and enthusiasm and the fun conversations you, my mother, and I used to have together. The last time I saw you, battling your cancer, you visited Vernon's house and showed us the video of the great house that you and Jerry were having completed in Hawaii. Not once did you feel sorry for yourself. You made the most of every moment that you had on this earth. You brought joy with you wherever you went, embodied strength, grace, faith, and a great love for your family and friends. I love you always and will miss you very much. Until we meet again! Renate was a sweet friend. I seldom heard her compain and her heart was always filled for those she knew was struggling. She loved her family and life. I will miss sitting with her on the back row at church and feeling the energy she had for life.

Hank and I met Jerry and Renate when we lived near them on Maui. We became great friends and enjoyed paradise together for several years.
Her favorite times were when her children and grandchildren came to visit from the mainland.
She was a caring and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Aloha Renate

Though we didn't know Renate for many years, like many of you did, we always found her to be incredibly positive, warm, loving and giving, even in light of her struggles against this illness. It was inspirational to us and to many, we are sure. An amazingly strong woman who we truly admired and, more importantly, just enjoyed being around -- "Oh, my word!" Her smiles and laughter were always uplifting, magical and we know with surety that she is today in that perfect place in heaven, with no more pain or tears; watching over her family, friends and all, as one of God's special guardian angels. We wish Renate's family peace and hope in the future and you are in our prayers. Yvonne, it is an honor and joy to work with you in our little company, named for her and which will always keep Renate close at heart.

Omi was full of light, life, and love. She was kind and loving to all and in so many other ways emulated the Savior.

She passed away peaceably surrounded by those she loved. Having her children together with her was comforting not just because we were with her but because we were with each other. She always expressed such joy when she found out that we spent time with each other, even if it was only on the phone.

Our children loved her dearly. She will be missed but her influence will be felt for generations.

Mom, Suzanne and I love you more than words can express.
