Ricky Tze Hua Tan

November 21, 1981January 24, 2013

Ricky Tan was born in Penang, Malaysia, to Robert and Vivian. He has a younger brother, Danny. His early studies were in St Xavier’s primary and secondary schools, where he was very active in extra-curricular activities. It was a happy and hectic time for him, including his days as Head of the Red Crescent Society. He left school with cherished memories. Later, he studied at Inti College in Nilai, Malaysia, and then at Iowa State University, USA, where he graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering. It was in Iowa that he met Sheue Lei and they were married in 2007. He was very happy to have joined Microsoft and loved his work there. Ricky and Sheue Lei settled down in Redmond, Washington State and were surrounded by loving friends who always supported each other.

Ricky will be remembered as a filial and loving son by his parents. His easy-going, good and cheerful nature and helpfulness endeared him to his friends. To his wife, he was a loving and faithful husband, and to his company, a loyal and hardworking employee.

Our condolences goes out to Ricky's family and words would never be enough to describe Ricky, someone who has impacted our lives and who has made serving the Red Crescent more than a decade ago an enjoyable one! We are really glad that our paths crossed during Ricky's journey of life and may he rest in peace now....

Ricky is (was) one of the most positive people we have met in our lives. We remember his face smiling, willing to extend himself and be a blessing to others. He will always be remembered in our hearts as a friend who added value to our lives. It is a loss to all of us.
Our prayers ask God to give his soul salvation and strength to his family and all of us. Our special prayer for Sheue Lei for her to gain strength to face this formidable loss.

Now that you're gone, we will miss your bright cheerful smile.
Now that you're gone, we will miss your glowing happy face.
To a mother, you are a gracious son.
To a wife, you are a remarkable husband.
To a sibling you are an admirable brother.
To friends and all others, you are held in high regard.
We will miss sharing meals with you.
We will miss playing games with you.
We will miss going out with you.
In other words, we will greatly miss you.
You will always be in our hearts and in our thoughts.
The memories that we have shared with you, will never be forgotten.
Dear, dear Ricky, we will always remember you with love.
