Born in Burbank, California, on August 25, 1932, Bob was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Marilee, and their son Jim Beckes. Bob moved his family to Bellevue in the early 60s drawn by the potential of the Northwest. He was a geologist at Boeing and then a business owner in Redmond. Bob loved camping, boating, and traveling with Marilee. Together, they created cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew them.
Bob is survived by his son Eric Beckes, daughter Linda McFarlane, five grandchildren: Paige Rodriguez, Katie Lane, Jim Beckes, Breanne Smith, and Laura Beckes; and seven great-grandchildren. He was supportive and proud of all their accomplishments. He was successful in his real estate endeavors, and set an example of hard work and perseverance that will be hard to match. His dry sense of humor and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Overlake Hospital and Valley General for their care of both Bob and Marilee over the past two months.
Bob will always be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and legacy of success.
