Robert Adan Sedillo was born in 1947 in Bisbee Arizona to a feisty redhead, Thelma Sedillo, and a bilingual Basque-Spaniard, Candelario Benito Sedillo. Upon attending New Mexico Military Institute, he finished his education at Hanover College, then the University of Arizona. Following graduation, he met a vivacious blonde nurse in the Coronary Care Unit at the hospital where his father was recovering. The two fell in love, married within nine months, and then travelled around the country while he continued his service in the Army. After some time they moved to Arizona, bought a “vicious” guard-dachshund, and had two children. As his career in insurance brokerage surged forward, he moved his family to the Seattle area where they have since resided, still wondering how the sun manages to disappear for so many days each year. Bob was able to adjust to the lack of sun but did wonder how he succeeded in landing within a place so full of Democrats. Thirty years of suit-wearing, briefcase-toting, and traffic-filled commutes drove him out of the rat race to become a successful, highly sought-after independent consultant. Two years ago he rewarded himself with retirement and babysitting his beloved grandson. He was known for his sense of humor, playfulness, perspicuity, passion, and loving his family, who were the be-all and end-all of his life. He is survived by Peggy, his wife of 48 years, his daughter Angela, his son Matt, his daughter-in-law Lauren, and his grandson Luken as well as many friends and relatives. He is so, incredibly loved and although his physical absence is devastating, he will always be in our stories, memories, and hearts. A service will be held at Cedar Lawns Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 11:00 on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Contributions can be sent to Wounded Warrior Project.
