William Eugene Lindstrom Sr.
January 2, 1933 – November 24, 2018
William E. Lindstrom Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members on Saturday, November 24, 2018. He was born on January, 2, 1933 in Elkhart Indiana. William is survived by his sister, Alda Marie. He leaves behind three children, Janness Lindstrom McNeal, Ragnar Lindstrom, and William Lindstrom II. Also two grandchildren, Chelsee Lindstrom and William Lindstrom III, and three great grandchildren. He graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1951, where he learned basic carpentry skills. Jan 4, 1952, he enlisted in the Navy serving four years active duty in the Navy, two of which were during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in Dec. 1955 from active duty, remaining 4 more years inactive in the Navy reserves. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and The Republic of Korea Medal ( 2003). He worked a short time for Boeing but his real passion was carpentry. Leaving Boeing he entered a four year Carpentry Apprentice program and became an accomplished carpenter. In 1988 he and a friend started renovation on the Stimson-Green Mansion (in Seattle), on which they spent the next 6 yrs. Mrs. Collins hired him to stay on permanent as the mansion’s journeyman until he retired in 2002. Funeral service will be held graveside Sunday at 11:00 am at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 7200 180th Ave. NE, Redmond.
