Ethel Mae Thompson, 88, of Lawndale, California, passed away on August 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and cherished by all who knew her. Born on February 15, 1938, Ethel was a warm, joyful, and devoted woman whose laughter, strength, and generous heart brought comfort and happiness to everyone around her.

Ethel was the heart of her family. She had a special way of making people feel loved and cared for, and her presence brought warmth and comfort wherever she went. To know Ethel was to know a woman whose love for her family ran deep.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including playing board games, working on puzzles, crocheting, and watching her favorite game shows. Country music held a special place in her heart, and she especially enjoyed country line dancing. And, of course, she loved Elvis.

Above all, Ethel treasured time with her family. One of her greatest joys was attending her grandson’s soccer games and cheering him on from the sidelines. Being present for the people she loved meant so much to her, and those moments became treasured memories her family will carry with them forever.

Ethel was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, as well as a cherished family member and friend.
