Mary Ann Stylianides

Mary, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 29th at Torrance Memorial Hospital. Mary was such a vibrant light in her family's lives, and will be deeply missed. Her life revolved around her family and friends and took any chance to celebrate life and all the wonderful things it brought. Mary loved hosting at her home, from Thanksgiving feasts, to birthdays and everything in between. She was adventurous, and took every opportunity to travel the world. From Egypt to Antarctica, she had a passion for experiencing everything life had to offer, and learning everything she could along the way. Following her career in dentistry, most of her free time was spent preparing science labs for her students, with such a passion for knowledge, that her home became a showcase of her experiments. Mary was a woman that had an impact on the lives of everyone she met, and we will miss her smile, her laugh, and her passion for life. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on November 30, 1950, and has lived in Rolling Hills Estates since 1997.

Mary is survived by her two children, Barrington (Katie) and Malamatenia Wilson, her granddaughter, Marileni Wilson, and her siblings John (Lesa) Stylianides and Lynn (Paul) Murphy. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Barry, and her parents Stephen and Mollie Stylianides.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 4 pm on Friday August 7th at Lighthouse Memorials and Receptions in Redondo Beach. The funeral service will be held at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach on Saturday, August 8th at 10am, followed by the burial at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
