Dorothy died Saturday November 7, 2015 with her family by her side.
During her youth, Dorothy briefly lived with some family in Detroit, Michigan. and then in the late 50's Dorothy moved to Pasadena, Ca. This is where she met her husband, Lynwood Barnes. She thought he was a handsome man and it was love at first sight, especially since her grandmother told her "we want you to marry him, he looks like a nice guy!' They then married April 10,1960. Together they raised 7 children: Lynwood Jr "Pete", Jerry, Terry-Ann, Joanne, James, Darlene, and Joevon.
In 1971 Dorothy dedicated her life as one of Jehovah Witnesses, she was baptized at the District Convention, in San Jose, Ca. Dorothy was a faithful servant of Jehovah God. Dorothy spent a lot of her time in the door to door work, reading and meditating on the scriptures. Her favorite texts were found in the book of Psalms. Dorothy passed away calling out to her Heavenly Father.
Dorothy is survived and loved by her husband Lynwood Barnes, her brother Kascadare Causeya, her seven children, grand-children, great grand-children and a host of nieces and nephews.
There are no words to express our loss for our dear precious Dorothy. All who knew and loved her are left with a void that cannot ever be replaced. To know Dorothy, you knew her spunk, her sense of humor, and her big beautiful smile. She truly touched all who knew her.
Her family and friends will never forget her love for Jehovah, her generosity, as she would give you anything without hesitation. She just loved to see her family happy.
We miss Dorothy and long to see her again in a paradise new world, where she can be reunited with her family and friends.
