Donald Richard Roberts

He was born in Hanford, CA to Wanda Lou Dennison and Luther Franklin Roberts. Growing up, his kids got to hear of the many youthful shenanigans that went on between him, his brothers, Frank and Luther, his sister, Darlene and their many cousins.

On New Years Eve of 1977 he shared his first dance with the prettiest girl he had ever seen, Cindy Ann Thompson. If you ask him, it was love at first sight. On 22 March 1980, at Hilltop Chapel, Cindy would marry that handsome boy with the cowboy hat and boots. They lived by their vows, until death did they part. Every single word, for 45 years.

Donald was a loving, hard-working, devoted, proud father of four kids, Katie (Dustin) Becker of Valdosta, GA, Donny (Samantha) Roberts, of Miramonte, CA, Jessica Martinez (at home with our Lord) and Angela (Joshua) Butts, of Sanger, CA. He had twelve grandchildren who loved him dearly and always looked forward to the time spent with Grampa, Malachi, Zachariah, Avion, Donaven, Makenzie, Treyven, Gabriel, Wyatt, Lydia, Aevalee, Baylynn & Jameson. The list doesn’t stop there, many of his nephews, nieces and friends of his kids looked up to him as a loving, humorous, role model, father figure and friend. He was so loved and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Roberts, his stepdad Roy Sherfield, Father and Mother-in-Law, Norman and Judy Thompson, sister, Darlene and his beautiful daughter, Jessica Lynn. We have no doubt that he saw her waiting for him and never looked back.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on 10 January 2026 at 1pm at the Dunlap Community Center in Dunlap, CA.
