Elizabeth “Liz” was born March 9, 1943, to Abel and Elsie Ferreira in Visalia, CA. Elizabeth was the oldest of two children. She and her brother Stanley grew up on a dairy outside of Visalia with their parents. Her parents were proud of their Portuguese culture and instilled the pride and ethics of the culture to their children. Liz attended elementary school in Visalia and graduated from Redwood High School in 1961. After graduation she immediately went to work at United California Bank as the Installment Loan Secretary.
Elizabeth has always loved adventures and traveling. On one particular adventure, a Corvette run to Yosemite would introduce her to the future love of her life, Charlie Ananian. The couple was married at St. Mary Armenian Church on April 25, 1964. Together the couple enjoyed numerous vacations around the world with great friends.
Elizabeth and Charlie were blessed with two sons, Gary and Darren. Elizabeth was their biggest fan growing up. Elizabeth welcomed her future daughter-in-laws, Janet (Gary) and Gina (Darren), with open arms and adored them like her own. Her greatest blessings were her five grandchildren (Audreena, Brandon, Kathryn, Laura and Marley) and one great-granddaughter (Aubrey Chavez). They were the light of her life!
Elizabeth has faithfully served in many organizations. In her younger days she served as the Our Lady of Fatima queen, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and the St. Mary Ladies Society.
Elizabeth will be dearly missed. She was a friend to everyone and adored everyone she encountered.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 4-7 pm with a Home Service at 6:00 pm at Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel, 2200 S. Reed Ave in Reedley, CA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4th at10:00 am at St. Mary Armenian Church, 14395 Ave 384 in Yettem, CA. Burial will follow immediately at Smith Mountain Cemetery, 42088 Road 100 in Dinuba, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Remembrances be made to St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church, P.O. BOX 367, Yettem, CA 93670.
